I know this is a questionable dress—it’s got those weird white spaces, that Ed Hardy vibe, maybe it’s actually a swimsuit coverup?—but there’s something really compelling about it for me. The bright colors for one, the placement of the heart over my internal organs, the red sparkles over the heart which give it some kind of blood-of-Christ allusion. (Here’s a closer picture, from the last time I wore it three years ago.)
Dress: store in my neighborhood; Fishnets (with black tights underneath), shoes and sunglasses: Hot Topic; Heart pendant: JCP; Three other necklaces: thrifted and gifted; Plastic bangles: F21; Gem bracelet: Kohl’s; Earrings: ABC Trading Co.

Right now, I’m actually very dusty and not so glamourous (except for yesterday’s Disco Bingo post), so here’s something I wore back in April on my last vacation, when I was heavy into 70’s jetset.

Four years ago my friend Katie suggested family camp to me, and the thing that got me there (because it certainly wasn’t the camping aspect) was Disco Bingo Night.
I love that my friend Alice and I were twins! We didn’t plan it.

I was so happy to meet Cynthia today! I’d heard about a student who looked and dressed like me; she’d had confusing interactions where someone would wave at her from far away and then look baffled when they got up close.
We were both at the Resource Fair for new transfer students. I loved that she had on the button I designed! And that furry fringy jacket!
